2018 Forward

What are you doing in 2017 that’s going to help you in 2018? With this new year approaching everyone is saying, "2018 is going to be my year! It's about to be the best year of my life! I’m going to be doing things and all this other stuff..." With that being said, “What did you do in 2017 that is going to support your goals, your dreams, and aspirations to flourish in 2018?”  I've been told you just can’t say "well, sometimes you can just say this is what I’m going to do and with that it's just gonna happen." But, at the same token I do understand that you need to be prepared. What is next to come for me, my goals, and aspirations for next year for 2018?  "Coming up with new ideas and things of what I would like to incorporate to grow these avenues and the social media platforms to be able to make it a lifestyle." I want to be able to do this as not just my 9-to-5 typical job but to make this as a goal and a transition of a career

Hello December

Image
I know that I’m super late with this post! Better late than never! I hope this month has been everything to you and more. This month has been filled with birthday celebrations galore my son included! He turned the big 3! I can't believe I have a 3 year old! The time has truly flown! Being a mommy is the best thing ever! Other birthday includes my niece and nephew that I help celebrate but that's not all for the December birthdays! Now on to the goals! I’m going to try and keep the goals on the light side seeing how it’s basically the end of the month. Goals: 4 posts: NY post Brussels Airport Travel This post Put Christmas Tree up Prepare for the family Yes, don’t judge me that I don’t have my Christmas tree up! It’s in my house and that’s a plus! I’m hoping I can get it up today if not  tomorrow  at the latest. I wanted to put it up yesterday but my body has other plans for me! I was home sick lying in bed all day. That was the worst and hardest

Working on a Lifestyle

I am constantly thinking of ways to make The Fae and Cita Show and A Cita Life better. I constantly miss out on sleep because when I think of them my mind gets a going with creative ideas and things I would like to try. This morning is no different when I'm clearly tired and need some rest. I just get up, take a shower, and get dressed. I'm trying to write down ideas on how to make them better while making tea. I feel like I don't dedicate the proper time to both of them for them to be what I want them to be. In fact, I know I don't! I work 40 hours a week at a job with sucky hours that are not conducive to a healthy work life balance or mainly just having a life! By, the time I get off from work, run an errand, and get home it's easily 7 pm. I still have a household to run and maintain. And a mom at that. My boys trump everything. So, there are plenty of nights that I'm trying to make a quick meal so I can spend all my time with them to help ease my constant

Hotel Exchange Review

Image
The Hotel Exchange is located in Amsterdam. The fashion hotel with rooms dressed like models. The hotel is in walking distance to the train station, boat rides, shopping, the Sex Museum, and the Red Light District. That was just a few things we did since we were so close to everything in walking distance. Hotel Amenities Complimentary wifi, soap, and shampoo. For other things you may have forgotten or didn't think about like a outlet power converter the sold in a vending machine on the second floor. There was another vending machine that sold snacks and water. They supplied a free map of things to do in the area. Lounge Space at the Hotel The Exchange Lounge space. The elevator is big enough for 2 people with not a lot of luggage. The hubs and I almost didn't fit and we had backpacks! Well, there were 2 elevators in the hotel. One going from the main floor where you check in at to the lounge area on the second floor and the other elevator taking you to the re

I Am Me. What's your Super Power?

Knowing your worth and or capabilities.  Knowing that I am loving, happy, kind, and my compassion for people will not change with a strong work ethic is what is going to make me succeed in life.  I was and still am working with individuals that wasn’t happy and they would be mean and treat me according to their mean ways.  Pushing their unhappiness onto me.  Pushing their unkindness on me.  Pushing their uncompassionate ways on me.  Evening pushing their fear upon me.  And me not realizing it I accepted what they were giving me. With that had me focusing on the what is wrong with me? Come to find out there is nothing wrong with me. Being me is my super power. What’s yours? And being me, I know that I can’t go wrong.  I even accepted the fear of losing my job and not being able to find another one. So, I put up with a lot of what they were giving me. Even when apply for jobs within the company and them telling me that I didn’t have the experience. I focused on the what was wron

Hello November

Image
Hey, loves I hope this month is treating you well. I want to wish you a happy, healthy, and productive month with lots of fun.Things are going pretty good for me.  We just wrapped up swim class for the boys and I’m glad it’s over. It was a waste of money and I don’t like wasting money. The weekend is for family. Our weekends are usually busy and I knew we would have to have our  Sunday’s  restricted. Well, my husband didn’t realize it was going to take up his football  Sunday . Being out of the country, nephews birthday, and colds interfered with making it to swim class. I will never book a weekend class for them again. They had 8 classes and I think the baby made it to half of the classes. Talk about being disappointed. I will pick the classes during the week like I did last time and it will work just fine for us. The hubs doesn't want the boys to take swim class during the winter months seeing how it can lead to the possibility of them getting sick. They have already relea

Brussels 2017

Image
After leaving Amsterdam we took a train to Brussels. We made it there later in the afternoon because we missed our preferred time for the train. We made it all the way to the station, to the track, where the train was at to press the button for the door not to open, for it to leave. We arrived in Brussels and walked from the train station taking in the sights of the city to our Air BnB apartment. We asked our host what was a good place to eat around here. She suggested we try this French restaurant for a nice meal. Once, settled we made our way to the restaurant. We made our way in and walk right past the maitre d not knowing who he was because he was talking to people. He stops us by calling to us in French and later in the English then later seats us. He brought us the menus and they were in French. We didn't sit long before the maite d came back stating that the only menus they had were in French and saying that he'll help us out by telling what they offered and we cou

Hotel Metro Review

Image
Hey loves, Just like I promised a video for Travel Tuesdays! It's a review of our stay when we went to London, Canada. Hotel Metro is a boutique hotel, that has 4 floors, 7 rooms on each floor. The lobby was beautifully decorated and I loved the little touches they had like the ramp for your luggage and the complimentary infused water. The fruit infused water was different every day. We went to London to celebrate our friend Frazier's birthday. Our friends stayed in the King Suite, it was a large spacious room, with a chair, flat screen TV, desk, large ottoman at the foot of the bed, coffee area, that had a jetted, soaker tub, rain shower, and a separate private toilet. Their room had a view of the outside where you could see the festival going on out front. Since, it was Frazier's birthday they gave him a complimentary bottle of wine. Picture taken inside of the Hotel Metro, King Suite  Sly and I stayed in the Queen Suite. The Queen Suite had a couch, des

My Weekend and Day Update 11/6

Hey loves, I hope you guys had a great weekend! I had plans for this weekend to be a productive weekend of writing and that didn’t happen. It was in fact a lazy weekend for us and I’m ok with that. There is always something for us to do on the weekend so to be able to kinda lounge around the house actually worked for us. I say kinda because the boys both had a runny nose  Saturday  and by  Sunday  the baby was better but my oldest was worse. No one really slept well that night but my oldest spent the day getting some much needed rest. I actually got to watch some junk tv this weekend! I don’t watch much tv anymore with being busy with the boys, work, or the channel. And I’ll take spending time with my boys anytime than watching tv. It was a rainy weekend as well so the lack of motivation to leave wasn’t there. Which means I’ll probably have to do everything during the week since I didn’t do it over the weekend. I did manage to take the baby to swim class yesterday. One more class

Amsterdam 2017

Image
We arrived in Brussels, Belgium where we were to catch a train and ride for two hours to Amsterdam. The train station had a stop in the airport so all we had to do was downstairs to get on the train. We made it to the train station in enough time but had just missed the 12:15 pm train. The next train was to arrive at 1:15 pm while waiting in the station looking at the kiosk it all of sudden showed cancelled. Cancelled... What how can the train be cancelled? The train for Amsterdam had been cancelled. We decided we would wait for the next one and sitting there in the train station the 1:15 showed cancelled as well. I was beginning to wonder were we ever going to make it to Amsterdam? Sly went an talked to a worker that wasn't very helpful by his unhelpfulness caused us to almost have to leave the station to get some help. Luckily, we were able to find someone that was able to help us. They directed us in the way of getting us to Amsterdam and we couldn't be happier. We arr

Celebration Week Favorites

Image
Hey loves, October 13 th  marked the first day a video was ever uploaded to The Fae and Cita Show channel on YouTube. It was the start of process for me a start of something better and here we are a year later celebrating the anniversary. Let me tell you that that time has flown by and I can’t believe it. I talked about some of my favorite videos that I have done on the channel so far for Celebration Week. My favorite video so far has been Visit to the Black Sand Beach. We were in Hawaii with the family and it was just a nice experience to be out there with our entire family joining the waves, sun, and some family togetherness.  The funniest/most entertaining video was Happy Halloween. I laughed that entire video and couldn’t believe that I was able to piece enough together to make it. The fun video that I have done so far was the Cocktail  Friday’s  Money Mayweather Knockout vs McGregor Tap Out. I just loved the music, how I was able to add the moments leading up un

Welcome to Relaxation Week

Image
Hey loves, We just wrapped Celebration Week and that leads us into Relaxation Week. We’ve been so busy getting the channel and my blog up and running and what better to celebrate celebrating is by relaxing. And not to mention that last week was so busy for me with the Celebration of the channel and things with my work life that I’m not sure I really got to celebrate and enjoy this milestone. So, a little R & R doesn't sound so bad but we'll see about that with me being a busy mom of 2 little ones. Stayed to this week episodes for our tips, tricks, and new found ways to relax. Until next time loves... Like always I have included the video for you viewing pleasure.

Doing What Us Moms Do Best

Image
On our way to Europe we had a lay over in Boston. We spent about a good 8+ hours as a layover there. I made sure before we left Detroit that I would try to feed the mess out of my baby so, I wouldn't have to worry about pumping as soon as we got to Boston. Mama succeeded. Seeing how I'm still breastfeeding I figured it would be best to pump before we started our next 10+ hours of travel to Europe. Which I'm glad I did I wouldn't have made it! Well, I didn't check out the Boston airport to see if they had an area for breastfeeding and at this point I wasn't going to wait and try and find out. So, I did what any breastfeeding mother would do pump while I waited for my flight. I got out a 6 ounces before it was time to board the plane. I had to dump it unfortunately and fortunately because it wasn't going to survive the plane and train ride totaling in about 24 hours of travel. Yes, that's me pumping out in the open in the waiting area waiting for

Our Boston Layover

Image
We flew from Detroit to Boston before leaving for Europe and had about an 8 hour layover. I wasn't too thrilled about the idea so I made no plans to look up anything for Boston even though Sly told me to do so. He said Boston was my trip to find something for us to do. Normally, I would have researched and planned some things out. Like I said I wasn't thrilled and I did nothing. When we arrived we made our way around to see where the international flight area of the airport was to familiarize ourselves with it when it came time to leave for our flight. We got back on the airport bus to head to rent a car last minute but heard over the system that there was a stop for the bus and train station so we decided to get off. We were trying to decide if we should do a day pass to get around via train or just purchase a ticket one way and another back to the airport. We asked one of the workers there and he told us to take the train to aquarium district saying that there was water

Hello October

Image
Hello October! I hope it's treating you well. This is one busy month for the channel and I couldn't be more excited. This month we're celebrating the 1 year anniversary for the channel. We're taking an entire week to celebrate! The channel anniversary celebration is the 2nd week of October followed by relaxation week. And we can't forget about Halloween. For the month of September we did a little traveling. Sly and I backpack through parts of Europe. I'm excited to share the stories and pictures with you. I've already shared some on my Instagram page. My goals for last month I was able to complete. Oh yea! Talk about feeling accomplished! I was able to edit and upload all 6 videos before we left to create some more space on my phone for our trip. Apparently, I didn't clear enough because I filled my memory up in Amsterdam. Lol, I took lots of pictures and video. I'm happy to report the boys are signed up for swim and have already attended their

Happy Anniversary! Blog Anniversary 1 Year!

Image
Today is my 1 year anniversary for my blog! I started my blog a long time for today's date but today is the day that I decided to start writing on a regular basis. Today this time last year I made a conscious decision that I wanted something better for myself. I was starting a YouTube channel and still wanted something that I could get my thoughts out and still be able to help, inform, and entertain simultaneously. And make it where some thing's could be in conjunction with the channel and some thing's were not. I remember logging back on to see that if I had kept on writing I would have had a solid following by now. Looking at older posts I had a lot of people reading my posts gaining more readers per post. Now, I'm starting over and proud of myself for being a to committing to at least one or two posts a month even though I would like to do more. But, we all gotta start somewhere right? I would like to take the time to thank my husband for his moral support

Hello September

Image
Hey Loves,  I do hope that everything is well with you all.  I hope your September is starting out well and your August ended the way you needed it to. August for me was definitely a very busy month. It started with a world wind of things going on. We were able to see and spend time with family which is always plus in my book and travel. Stories about that to come later. The start of September has been productive. I've started to throw things away and clean my house trying to prepare for the winter months to come. I'm not ready for it to get cold but it's coming. We celebrate my brother and nieces birthday. I was even enlisted to make Jell-O shots. That will be up on the channel for Cocktail Friday's this month. I'm glad Mercury is out of retrograde because maybe now I can get some things accomplished. For a brief period of time I felt like I couldn't complete anything. I am currently sitting on 6 videos that I need to edit to get up on the channel so,

Mommy Corner Monday

Image
Hey loves, I have yet to finish the part two of the traveling piece for Mommy Corner Monday. I was so disappointed that I didn't get it done. I wanted it done prior to our trip to Georgia. But, the more I look at/ think about the piece I'm going to have to add more information and split it up in 2 parts! It sounds like it will end up being a 3 part series for you if you like to travel with your kids or would want to travel. It's coming I promise! With that being said I need to look at the layout and take it from there. And of course it's not ready for this mommy corner today but I do have some good news today's post is by Fae. She talks about the first day of school for her little one. Enjoy and I'll see you in a the next post! Until next time loves!

Weekend Recap: Fight Weekend and everything else

Image
Hey loves, Hope this weekend was everything you needed. This weekend was fight weekend and I created signature drinks just for the occasion. My brother hosted the fight at his house and Money Mayweather Knock Out won and remained supreme and I was making drinks all night! It was definitely a late night for the kids. I had a sleeping baby in my arms by the time the Mayweather-McGregor fight started and ended. My oldest was trying to fall asleep but couldn't because all of the noise. They still had a ball running around with their cousins. We missed out on Black Restaurant week and I am so disappointed. I can’t wait for it to come back again. I read the menu and the food sounded amazing! So, when it comes around again we will definitely be going! I had a little girl time and saw Girls Trip. Yes, I know I’m late to the movement. It was a great movie! I feel like they should do another one but I don’t know how they could top that one! So, it could just remain one and be a classic

Hello August

Image
Hey Loves, With the start of the new month I hope it brings whatever you have been looking for. I'm a little bummed that it's August already! The time, summer, and this year has truly flown by. But, I am excited what a new month brings and so far it brings me a vacation! Our travels takes us to Georgia for a family reunion and a little R&R. I went to yoga yesterday and I made sure I did because I missed last week and I wasn’t able to make it the last 2 Saturdays. And knowing that we will be on vacation I will miss another week! Any who I went yesterday and it was everything I needed. I was even more excited that I actually did the crow pose yesterday! I was in the position then realized I was doing it then I fell. I tried it two more times in the yoga session and couldn’t hold and maintain the position. I was more excited with the fact that I did it which let me know I am capable of doing it again. So, yoga has been in the back of mind all the time since yesterday. I

Starting to Accomplish my Goal

I am so excited and happy beyond words right now. I went to upload a video for Cocktail Fridays and noticed I had a new comment that I hadn't checked yet. The comment stated "I just bought this, and your review was really helpful. Thank Yoouuuu" You do not understand that that just made my day! The whole point of starting the channel for me was to entertain and help people. And seeing that comment let me knows that I am accomplishing my mission help and entertain. I'm not done I got a lot more coming to you so stayed tuned! Until next time loves!

Traveling by Car: Road Trip!

Image
Today's Mommy Corner is traveling by car. So, I'm just going to jump right in. I can not stress enough the importance of having a system. It will save you time, frustration, and a headache when you have a system in place especially when traveling! Take creature comforts for on the road and the hotel. Depending on the distance your travel you take your baby’s bassinet. I took my son’s bassinet when we went to visit my sister in Cleveland. It was only a 3 hour drive and it was enough space in our car to do so. You can always request a pack and play once you arrival at your hotel if you’re concerned about space in your vehicle or not wanting to lug it around. I didn’t mind because his bassinet is good for traveling and it gave him some comfort when we were in a new place. For the car, I packed a couple of toys, books, and snacks for the road. When we went to Cleveland, I took one of my sons favorite toys to play with when we had down time in the hotel. For our Hawaii trip I a
