Doing What Us Moms Do Best

On our way to Europe we had a lay over in Boston.We spent about a good 8+ hours as a layover there. I made sure before we left Detroit that I would try to feed the mess out of my baby so, I wouldn't have to worry about pumping as soon as we got to Boston. Mama succeeded.

Seeing how I'm still breastfeeding I figured it would be best to pump before we started our next 10+ hours of travel to Europe. Which I'm glad I did I wouldn't have made it!

Well, I didn't check out the Boston airport to see if they had an area for breastfeeding and at this point I wasn't going to wait and try and find out. So, I did what any breastfeeding mother would do pump while I waited for my flight. I got out a 6 ounces before it was time to board the plane. I had to dump it unfortunately and fortunately because it wasn't going to survive the plane and train ride totaling in about 24 hours of travel.


Yes, that's me pumping out in the open in the waiting area waiting for my flight.

Easing Back into Blogging

I posted my first blog post in some years just the other day. While I was going through my drafts I counted and I have 26 drafts of posts that I have not posted in the all the years I was blogging! At first I couldn’t believe I had so many posts just left there. Then I really thought about I know and understand why they were just left there. Some for reason of “being seen” and others for situations I was dealing with in my life. I didn’t want to start the blog post off with “I’m back!” Or “Yes, I know it been awhile…” I’ve done all of that before only to leave and not post for months or in this case years until now… all I can say is that I am here now.  I wanted to start this month off with easing back into blogging. I want to get use to blogging again and do it with no pressure to post for the sake of posting. I enjoy writing and getting back into the swing of things will show me how much I missed the creative process. I’m unsure if I should use any of those old post at this point...

How A Setback Can Put You in Proper Alignment

I woke up with a cold sore last week Friday and I was filled with so many emotions none of which were happy. I was upset with the fact that I didn’t think the day prior was that stressful but my body told me otherwise. I was upset because that meant I let an event get to me that much that the stress caused this to happen. But, I hadn’t eaten the best that week I had been reminded that I had eaten McDonald’s twice that week (which is something I normally don’t do), my upcoming cycle didn’t help the situation either and the life event was just probably the icing on the cake.   I was disappointed to say the least but I had to sit with the thought of everything happens for a reason. The longer I sat with it the more I thought about how I hadn’t been taking care of myself like I really should in a while now. A Week in My Life: Take Care of Yourself

I’m a little late with this week’s blog post. Well, I am later than I would like to be. I like to have the blog posts out earlier in the week to give you something to read and later in the week something for you to view. And sometimes I just have to let the expectations go because I may have wanted to have the blog post out earlier in the week I am still making a post this week or so I thought. It’s a whole new week now. Since I started back up vlogging and blogging I have been consistent and I want to keep that momentum going. So, I wasn’t expecting to not be feeling well last week and how it shifted my whole week. I woke up Tuesday with my back hurting. I dropped the boys off at school and took the truck to the shop.
