Hello July: Well Wishes and Thoughts

Image
Hello July and loves, I hope everything is well and July is being the best to you. We have officially made it through two birthdays and 4th of July. Bash's birthday was a success. Everyone had a good time. We were able to celebrate Sly's birthday with a impromptu BBQ. I'm a little disappointed that he had to cook on his birthday and not to mention I wasn't able to be much help because I had to work. We were able to enjoy everyone's company in coming together to celebrate life's moments and make memories. We literally drank for 5 days straight! Talk about a good time! Fourth of July was good because I got to see it through the eyes of my son who was finally old enough to see fireworks. He truly enjoyed it and I enjoyed seeing the excitement he had seeing them. July is our "busy" month I like to call it because it is a birthday every week and a party to celebrate every weekend. I was a little upset with myself because I didn't post anythi...

Holiday Mindfulness

Image
Hey with the holidays upon us please be mindful of your kids especially the little ones. Everyone is so excited to see the newest editions. Just cause the family may be excited doesn't mean your little one is. It's ok to want to hold your baby while he or she is fussy. Do so cause your baby is crying for you to come and get them. Saying I need a break and bring me some comfort. New sights, sounds, and people can be too much for small children and babies. Sometimes, I arrive late and leave early with my little ones not to over simulate them. And when they get too fussy I go to a quiet place to disconnect and refocus that energy whether it's for a feeding, mental break, or a nap. Once, I know they are ok and have been recharged we return to the festivities. Hopefully, these tips can you for the holiday season. Seasons greetings everyone!  This post has been updated to add the video for your viewing pleasure.

Failed Mommy Moment

I went to the grocery store with my kids the other day. I get out of the truck, get a cart and proceed to put my kids in the cart. We are starting to make our way into the grocery store and I see this lady with her cart by her car taking her baby out of the car seat. I don't think anything of it and proceed into the grocery store. While in the produce section I'm getting fruits and vegetables and I'm in my head about what else I need to be getting before I move on to the next section of the store. Something tells me to turn around. I look and see the lady from the parking lot with her baby has laid her baby in the cart with nothing but a blanket on her. This baby is a new baby at that! My son is 3 months old and this baby looked like she was about a good month old. I just look and think to myself I can't believe she just has that baby in the cart like that. I don't say anything and proceed to the next section of the store. I know some of you are saying, "So y...

Clarity

I just got a bit of news that made me feel some type of way. I'm like really?..What the hell?...Really? I was pregnant with my second child and was torn between spending the extra time with my boys. Actually, I wanted to spend the extra time with my family but I was slightly concerned with going back earlier in attempts on moving up the corporate ladder. I decided to take a step back to raise my family. I found out that a position that I wanted wasn't even available became available and was filled. I've always felt like in the business corporate world I didn't belong. But, I constantly tried and forced it to work. I worked hard really hard for some people that did not care about me or my well being but yet and still I continued to work hard. But, it never really gotten me anywhere. Why keep trying at something when people don't give a shit about you? Fear of failure. Failure that despite all my efforts I couldn't gain that promotion or that position. So, I wou...
