Sorry to Leave You this Way...

Sorry for leaving you this way. I had to take a temporary break. I was starting to burn the candle from both ends so to speak. I have been going and going since the Refined festival back in March. I have had been putting too much pressure to be consistent about keeping the content up for The Fae & Cita Show YouTube channel, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter social media pages. While still trying to do my blog and the A Cita Life YouTube channel and maintaining a 40 hour week job, mother to 2 small children and puppy, and being a wife. Of course, leaving little time to myself or to spend quality time with the hubs. I’m not saying that I’m not capable of completing the tasks that I had put before myself because I am capable of doing all of those things and then some. But, what I’m saying is I needed to take a break mentally to refocus my energy, regroup and remember why am I doing this and to be able come back stronger and more focused than before. We all need to take a break some ...

New Hair Who Dis?

Image
I was getting ready to take my braids out and I was telling my friend that I wanted to get my hair like when I had it cut a few years ago. I was telling her how much I loved the hair style and how convenient it was for me. Be short made it easy and simple. She asked me how short would I want to go and I told not as short as I had it initially when I cut my hair the first time but a little length to it to be able to do something to it if I wanted to. Later that day, I took my braids out, finger detangled my entire head and grabbed the scissors. I called myself cutting off my ends and took off more. Once, I finished and started looking at my hair a huge smile just crept across my face. It made me so happy that the hair was gone. It was like I was like myself again, a new me, and I loved it. It instantly made me happy. I cut my hair for a few of reasons o ne being short hair works for me and my current lifestyle. Being a mom to 2 small children, working a regular 9-5, and...

Yea, so that happened...

Wednesday, I worked late came home around 8:45. We’re just hanging out getting ready to start our bedtime routine. Just when I decided I was going to get off the couch and get the kids ready for bed I noticed my son kept trying to blow his nose. There is only one thing about that - he can’t blow his nose just yet. He keeps taking my finger and touching his nose with it and trying to stick it up his nose. I got nails so I can’t put my fingers up his nose. I eventually tell him that he doesn’t have anything up his nose... pause... grab my phone turn on the flash light then look into his nose. There is something in there and I respond with a “Oh my god!’ That lets my husband know that we are not in for an easy night. He responds “What?” I tell him he stuck something up his nose. My husband then takes a look, I instantly go looking for needle nose pliers and the hubs says get the tweezers. I find my tweezers and give them to the hubs and he tries to get this small piece out of his nose....

A Chill Birthday

Yesterday was my birthday and I didn’t do much. I went to work and no one knew it was my birthday. Only 2 people remembered and one of them didn’t come to work and the other was on a different floor. Walking around it was like I had a secret I wasn’t telling. Usually, I would put on my birthday girl tee and go to work. But, I didn’t do it this time around. When I got home, the hubs insisted we either go out to dinner or get a take out from somewhere. I told him what I had a taste for and he found it. We ended up doing take out. I really didn’t want to take the kids out seeing how they are still recovering from a cold and it being so cold outside.  For dinner last night we tried Mr Miguel’s Mexican Grille and Cantina. The food was delicious! I got a Fajita bowl and Sly got a wet burrito. That burrito was humongous! They forgot my guacamole but the food was still delicious regardless. I would differently go there again. I wouldn’t mind going to the actual restaurant to see th...

Women Connect Wednesday: Black Woman Connect: Jessica Nabongo

Image
I’m super excited to talk about the Black Women Connect for this week. This weeks woman connect is a black blogger.  Her name is J essica Nabongo . She's a travel blogger and photographer. But, I’m focusing on the traveling. I am an adamant traveler and I love the travel. I know most people don’t think it’s possible to do so for what ever reason. I feel like this lady right here can bring you to a whole new level of awe and travel envy with just enough to get you biten by the travel bug! She’s been to 111 countries/territories and counting! I also found out that she is also a Detroiter!  How I first found out about Jessica is from one of the curly girls, Rene Daniella , that I follow on Instagram and Twitter. I just so happened to be on Twitter and this retweeted tweet  showed up on my time line. I skimmed over it and kept it moving. Well, it showed up on my timeline again with a response and this time I actually paid attention.  It was talking about how The Four...
