I Forgot Post: My New Obsession

Image
I was going through my computer and saw an old blog post that I had done when I had tried Detroit Make Me Fierce hair for the first time back in August on our Vegas vacation but never posted! I figured why not post it now seeing like there is no time like the present since I am currently wearing their hair now and was going to make a post about the hair and my trip for my birthday. Hope you enjoy!!!! My New Obsession I wanna talk about hair! I have this new obsession with my hair! I am a natural girl been officially curly for the past year and a half. Before then I was getting it pressed out, braided, and getting not so good sew ins. I would always end up with bad hair so I would never be able to do it. I would look worse than my own hair! I didn’t know you could even get bad hair. I never knew that something that could exist in the land of sew in hair. I recently found that out after my last experience of trying one for my birthday this year. The hair was only good for a week...

Hair review!

Ok, so I wanted to do a mid-hair review for my hair that I am wearing currently. I am wearing Detroit Make Me Fierce Peruvian 16 & 20 inches. Also, I am wearing a frontal closure in 14 inches purchased from another company. Which I did a pre hair review in a prior post. I have been wearing this hair for about 3-4 weeks and just came back from a vacation to celebrate my birthday! We did a 7 day cruise and a day in Miami and I was in water basically everyday. I would wash it every time I got out of the water except for our very last night on the ship. We always do the last night a "midnight swim" well that's what we call it because we have to pack everything up and set it outside our cabin room for departure so you are basically left with the basics or whatever you can carry with you off the ship the next morning. We did our midnight swim getting in the hit tub and swimming in the sea salt swimming pool. And of course we didn't get in til late! I went to sleep and...

My Closure is Here!

Image
I am super excited that my frontal closure is here! I opened the package and felt the hair and it is super soft!!!! I can not wait to get this closure installed! Not only is the hair super soft but it smells good too! I have heard that you can get hair and it smells chemically that way you know that the hair has been processed. Not this hair it smells like fresh just cleaned hair. This hair feels so much softer than the other closure I bought. I bought a 14 inch, loose wave, Peruvian frontal closure that goes from ear to ear. I decided to go a different route than the last closure. This closure can be parted any way you want. I only went with a 14 inch closure because I was watching a lady do a hair review and she stated that she doesn't go past 14 inches because if you buy a longer length of hair that you would have to cut it down which sometimes you would end up with 14 inches when it's all said and done anyway. So, I figured I would try a 14 inch in the front to give the l...

Happy New Year

Happy New Year everyone! I hope the start of your new year is going well! Mine started with some good news! I am turning dirty 30 this year and I wanted to get some of this weight off and become bikini ready. So, I started working out around Thanksgiving. The goal was to work out the 5 days I had to go to work and rest on the weekend. I did pretty good until the craziness of my work schedule picked up for the holiday season.  I went from working out from 5 days to like 2 days a week around Thanksgiving. Then was able to pick it back up and then the craziness of Christmas started... oh dear! I officially didn't work out until last week Wednesday! So, 2 weeks no work out! First off I would like to say I am not the working out type because it bores me.  But, I got myself motivated to keep at it. I could see the difference in my clothes. My jeans went from fitting to baggy. Luckily, it's cold here and I have been putting leggings on under my pants so you can't tell the differ...

My Skin Wow

I watched this Youtube video by Nikkimae2003 about her problem skin journey and a light came on! She stated that she uses all natural products in her hair which made her think about what she is putting on her face. For her she was using all the wrong products and makeup that caused her skin to break out even more than it actually helped. I realized that a lot of commercial grade products for beauty i.e. face wash, facial creams, lotions, soap, body washes, etc. has a lot of the same ingredients in them. So, if my face breaks out from hair products and they have the same ingredients in facial cleansers and creams my skin will break out from those products as well! Which also made me think that now I use cleansers and products for my hair that has all natural or close to all natural ingredients because the sulfates that are in commercial products causes my hair to dry out. So, if I am using natural products on my hair for better results why wouldn’t I do that with my skin! Now...

Hey World Hey

Image
Hey World Hey I feel like there is something you don’t like about yourself you should take a picture put it out for the world to see. Then it will make you want to make that change you have wanted to make but was to scared or lazy or procrastinating to do. So, I posted this picture on my social media the other day. I didn’t like it…why you ask? The bump that was on my skin! But, I felt like I wanted to show the world that I was back to my natural curly state and that bump was just going to have to be apart of it. I felt like it was now or never to make a change so I posted that picture curly hair, break out, and all. And that break out did get me some unwanted attention. My husbands’ aunt called me not to long after making a comment right after the post went up. She wanted to know what happened to my skin and she had never seen it like that before. She thought it was from the hair I was wearing during my protective style and that I shouldn’t use it anymore. I had to expl...
